Survivors Ahoy
As the sweltering hot summer day comes to a close for the Sherwoods, They stop to enjoy the sunset out over the water, catching the cool trade wind breeze, when a small movement in the water catches their eye. A little while passes, when the 2 specks get closer to the beach. Everett decides to strip down to his skivvies and swim out to investigate. He discovers an old man trying to help a young boy make it to shore.
The couple make a couple of bedrolls from the firs in the casks and everyone settle down to sleep. In the morning, the two new castaways find the fishing poles and decide to catch themselves something to eat while the Sherwood couple remains asleep. Salty Dawg and Timmy fix their meal then set out to discover what they can find in the area. After searching a while, Salty Dawg figures out what he can do to make some shelter and create some privacy for all of them. After a couple of more days have passed, He admires their handiwork. A nice enclosed outhouse and a beach shack made out of sand and reeds will provide shelter.
Exploring Their New World
After having several days of wind- driving rain and lightning storms, the uncovered sides of the sand covered shack is not adaquate to keep them warm and dry. The couple decide to try and find a better place to live. While training their horses to get used to the home made saddles, They let their horses wander around the countryside. Wild Wind meanders up into the hills above the strand to see if they can find a nice spot with fresh water and a grassy area to build their new homestead. A nice patch of grass with some kind of fresh water pond will do nicely to feed the horses and provide us with much needed drink. Everett and Adamina decided to show Salty Dawg and Timmy this piece of land.
Everett started packing up the casks to move them up to the new Bluff cabin site when he finds a book about woodworking among the pile that Adamina had packed in the casks for their voyage. He starts to read how to build houses and cabins wiand what tools he will need. He is confident that he can manage to use the book and few tools available to create simple household furnishings they will need. In the meantime, Adamina finds a cookbook in the pile that gives her lessons on how to prepare meals by the meager light of the single candle.
The Sherwoods, Salty Dawg and Timmy head up to the bluff. They survey the build site and decide what they will need to build their homestead.
